Law in the Movies: The Cider House Rules

Within the context of the Law in the Movies, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized the screening of The Cider House Rules, a movie based on a novel that highlights the moral issue of abortion, by telling the story of orphan Homer Wells, trained to be an obstetrician by the orphanage director, Dr. Wilbur Larch. Eventually, Homer leaves the orphanage to work in a cider farm where a fellow worker is raped and impregnated by her father. So far, Homer has always refused practicing abortions; will he sell out on his principles this time?

This event, hosted by the Faculty of Law, took place on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Conference Hall.

After the screening, a discussion was held between students and instructors.
