The Ambassador of Canada to Lebanon H.E. Hilary Childs-Adams visited on April 8, 2011 the USEK main campus, wherein she was received by Ms. Rima Mattar, Director of International Affairs. She met with Rev. Fr. Hady Mahfouz, USEK President, for an exchange of ideas concerning potential cooperation between the University and the Canadian Embassy.
Fr. Mahfouz presented to the Ambassador an overview on the agreements previously signed between USEK and renowned Canadian Universities, namely Laval, Sherbrook and HEC Montreal. They tackled afterwards the possibilities of widening the scope of cooperation, as well as the similarities between the Canadian Universities and USEK, notably bilingualism. Fr. Mahfouz offered the Ambassador the icon book as a present in addition to a set of Music CDs produced by the University.
At the end of her visit, the Ambassador made a tour in the campus, visiting the Main Library, the Dealing Room, the John-Paul II Amphitheater and the Museum. Following the tour, a lunch was held in her honor, attended by a delegation from the Embassy in addition to a number of officials from USEK.
