Constantly seeking to promote education and research, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), represented by its Rector, Rev. Fr. Hady Mahfouz, signed on February 3, 2011 a cooperation agreement with the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools in Lebanon, represented by its Secretary General, Rev. Fr. Marwan Tabet.
This agreement aims to expand cultural, scientific and educational exchanges between both institutions and facilitate the achievement of joint projects. Both parties agreed to develop a common policy in order to organize joint conferences, colloquiums and seminars that would meet the needs of the teaching sector, while preserving its main values that serve the mission of education. The agreement stipulated as well to offer training opportunities at USEK to the teachers of catholic schools so as to receive a university degree, especially for those wishing to develop their knowledge and enhance their practical experience. In turn, the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools will offer job opportunities for the USEK graduates and help them to enter the labor market and practice teaching within a framework of professionalism. Furthermore, the agreement suggests the establishment of a diploma in education that allows teachers, holders of bachelor degrees, to pursue their specialization in the courses which they are teaching. This diploma will thus meet the requirements of teachers wishing to promote their didactic skills and teaching methods.
