International Day for Persons with Special Needs

On the occasion of the International Day for Persons with Special Needs, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized a series of conferences and testimonials on the theme: “Towards a New Special Education”.

This event, hosted by the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, in collaboration with the Higher Institute of Psycho-educational and Social Sciences, «Progetto Uomo», was held on Tuesday December 3, 2013, at 15:30, in Auditorium B, at USEK Main Campus.

Program

15:30-16:30 Opening Session
  • Opening Speech by Mrs. Hoda Nehme, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities
  • Presentation about the Agreement between the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities and IPU, and training courses in special education, Nicola Titta, IPU
  • Testimonial and lifestyle speech by Mrs. Cesarina Olivan, Vice-President, Associazione Nuove Frontiere – Italy
  • Promotion of a pilot model for the inclusion of children with special needs in primary schools in Lebanon, by Mr. Amer Makarem, Gruppo di Volontario Civile

17:00-18:00 Conference and Exchange
