The Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik organized its Job Fair 2011 under the theme of “Connecting Education to Society” on April 7 and 8, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the USEK Main Campus.
The main objective of this fair is to provide students with job opportunities in local and foreign markets. It also allows employers to benefit from the wide range of specializations offered by the University in order to be able to choose the most suitable candidates which meet the requirements of their companies. The Job Fair strives, in this scope, to offer interesting job opportunities that the main economic and technological actors can provide for the enthusiastic and highly-skilled students. This year, in its third edition, the fair grouped more than 40 top ranked companies from different industries renowned in the fields of banking, insurance, media, engineering, logistics, etc… A huge number of students flocked to the fair in order to submit their resumes and meet the representatives of different companies.
Throughout the 2 day event, students were able to identify the scope of work of the companies and engage with top representatives on career options following graduation. This enabled them to better prepare for the real world by optimizing course selections, choice of training, and work experience prior to graduation.
Following the welcome speech by Ms. Madonna Salameh, Head of the Corporate Relations Unit, Prof. Nehme Azoury, Dean of the USEK Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences, highlighted in his speech the necessity of having multiple opportunities in promoting personal and professional development for the real market challenges, underlining the necessity of interaction between the university and its surrounding society. He pointed out as well that “our main objective does not consist in having a huge number of graduates as much as it consists in seeking to provide them with suitable job opportunities, in addition to knowledge and necessary qualifications that enable them to enter the business world without hesitancy”.
