Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized a seminar on “Nuclear Magnetic Resonance” given by Mr. Antoinre Gedeon, Professor at UPMC, Paris 6.

This event, hosted by the Faculty of Sciences, took place on Wednesday October 30, 2013, at 17:00, in the Jean El Hawa Auditorium, at USEK Main Campus.

NMR: From Nuclear Spin to IRM Imaging
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is one of the most fruitful spectroscopic techniques for structural analysis of materials and biomaterials. The latest theoretical, instrumental and methodological developments allow the achieval of a level of unequaled sophistication in the characterization of solid buildings and their dynamics.

This conference will present the principle of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and illustrate this technique within many applications in the field of hybrid materials, natural materials (stones), and IRM imaging. We will thereby prove that NMR spectroscopy is situated at the crossroads of multiple disciplines - from physics to medicine, chemistry, biology and earth sciences.
