The Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon visited the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik

On March 14, 2013, upon invitation from the President of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, Fr. Dr. Hady Mahfouz, the Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Milagros Hernando, visited the University. During the meeting, they discussed ways of developing the bilateral ties, especially on the cultural and the educational sides, was discussed.

Fr. Mahfouz presented an overview of the university’s history and its mission to assure high quality education that is in line with the developments and the requirements of the market. Fr. Mahfouz informed the Spanish Ambassador about the Faculties and programs, as well as architectural, academic and technological development projects all over the campus, showcasing the Green Project, which will transform the university into a carbon-free within the next ten years. Fr. Mahfouz praised finally the honorable lineage of the Spanish civilization and, in particular, the importance of the Spanish language and its international magnitude.

The Spanish Ambassador thanked Fr. Mahfouz for his invitation and kind reception, and expressed the willingness for future cooperation. She also showed an interest in the Latin American Studies and Cultures Center of the University, and was presented with a souvenir book entitled Asi-l-Hadath Lebanon: History of a Grotto, published by the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik Press (PUSEK).

As part of her visit she was shown the University’s buildings and laboratories, auditoriums and the public library, and that was followed by a feast to honor her presence.
