USEK organized a prize award ceremony on May 27, 2011 to award the Spelling Excellence Award to its award-winning students, within the framework of « La Dictée 100 fautes v/s sans faute ! » competition, organized by the Department of French Language and Literature, in order to promote the status of the French language in educational institutions and help students to deepen their knowledge in French. This competition was addressed to all USEK students and the winners are: Maya Khadra (1st Prize; Faculty of Letters), Mario Al Chahrouri (2nd Prize; Faculty of Medicine) and Zeina Al Rahmoun (3rd Prize; Faculty of Letters).
The ceremony included speeches for Rev. FF. Hady Mahfouz, USEK President, and Karam Rizk, Dean of the Faculty of Letters, as well as Prof. Nicole Chalhoub, Chairperson of the French Language and Literature Department, who all congratulated the award-winning students, stressing that USEK will keep on motivating its students and encouraging them in their quest for knowledge and creativity as well as supporting outstanding students.
