In order to improve the co-operation and to set up the Master program in Chemistry axis, recently opened at the Faculty of Sciences and Computer Engineering at USEK, the visit of Dr. Samir Matar (CNRS-BORDEAUX) took place during the last two weeks of July 2005.

Several meetings took also place under the direction of the Dean of the Faculty Prof Naïm Ouaini with Dr. Matar and in the presence of Dr. Michel Nakhl and Dr. Walid Harb.

Dean Ouaini moved forward the collaboration in the direction of the carrying out the research axis so that the students can benefit from it as soon as they would be in the final phase of their Master degree (phase of the research project).

Dr. Matar explained for the researchers who were present, the various research topics which lead to Bordeaux in collaboration with the renowned researchers. He showed goodwill and enthusiasm to conclude the research with USEK so that our work is internationally recognized and published in the international newspapers specialized in the field.

The Dean required that the research topics be feasible at USEK in order to be able to prepare theses in co-direction and co-supervision. He recalled that the scientific exchange is not only done on the level of research but also on the level of teaching. Within this framework, Dr. Matar took part in several courses of the B.S program during his visit last year and he will take part in the courses of the Master program next year.
