Alumni

Access

As an USEK alumni you can get access to a variety of USEK Library services and resources. The Library's resources are at the disposal of University’s alumni for their personal and professional development, although strictly for non-commercial use. To use the Library, you will need to issue your USEK alumni ID card by submitting this form.

Account and Cards

  • A valid USEK alumni card is required to access the alumni services and resources we offer.
  • To borrow books, a one-time deposit refundable fee of 100 USD is required. The deposit will be paid and refunded at the Student Accounting Desk in the Registrar Office.
  • When borrowing books, you must show the deposit receipt at the Library circulation desk.
  • Every library user has a right to privacy and confidentiality while using library materials. Names of borrowers and their accounts are never disclosed.

Find Resources

  • Catalog for searching the USEK Library print collections including books, journals, newspapers, theses and dissertations, music recordings etc.
  • Electronic Resources for searching specific e-collections (article databases, e-book collections, etc.) (See walk-in access service).
  • One search for searching the complete USEK Library catalog and databases simultaneously through a single search box (see: walk-in access service).


WALK-IN ACCESS SERVICE

USEK Library offers its alumni a walk-in access service, which allows our alumni to access certain databases, e-journals and e-books for use on-site. To use the walk-in access service please ask for assistance at the circulation desk in either reading room.

Please note that even in the library, some e-resources are not available to external users due to licensing restrictions.

WIRELESS ACCESS

USEK Library provides its alumni a short-term Wi-Fi connection. Ask for your login details at the circulation desk.

Eduroam:
All visitors from participating institutions can use USEK’s Eduroam secure wireless network by selecting the Eduroam wireless network (SSID) anywhere on USEK Campus. Users should use their institution’s username (email format: username@domain) and password to login to Eduroam.


Get Help

  • Ask Us for assistance with your research by contacting a librarian in person.
  • Research guides provide you with targeted information on a specific topic or tool to help you in your research.
  • Cite your sources for learning how to cite your references properly.

Copy/Print/Scan

  • Alumni may set up a CPS account on their USEK alumni ID card.
  • For activation, purchase units and recharge, please refer to the Student Accounting Desk in the Registrar Office.
  • The minimal activation or recharge fee is 5,000LL.


Activities

  • Exhibitions for exhibiting your artwork (paintings, photos, etc.) in the Library.
  • Film, Photography and Recording for organizing your session with the Library if you would like to make use of the premises for a film, photography or recording session.

Change of Address

It is the responsibility of individuals to keep the Library informed of any address changes. Library fines will not be waived if alumni fail to notify us of a change of address. You can update your address with library staff at the circulation desk of the USEK Library.

IMPORTANT
Rules and regulations of USEK Library are to be respected. Failure to do so may result in the suspension of user borrowing privileges. Membership is discretionary and the administration reserves the right to refuse applications for membership without redress. The Library is responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of a borrower's transactions and for providing an environment conducive for research.
