Towards an Empowered Education and Employability: A New Vision of Education

The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized a conference entitled “Towards an Empowered Education and Employability: A New Vision of Education”.

This event took place on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. in Building C, 4th Floor.

CONCEPT NOTE
Over the last decade, globalization, technological change and new emerging sectors have driven the agenda of Higher Education leaders. Universities are investing ongoing efforts to strengthen relations with employers and to reform their degree structures and cross-institutional services to empower students with technical, transferable and soft skills. After all, a major challenge is not only meeting the expectations of all stakeholders including alumni, employers, government bodies, parents, professional organizations, staff and students, but also defining the roles and responsibilities of the different stakeholders in aligning supply and demand.

This conference brought together educational leaders, employers, academics, and government bodies to shed light on the challenges of Higher Education in enhancing the students learning experience and meeting the current and future employability demands. It was an important opportunity to share ideas and listen to success stories while offering a platform for national and international networking on personal and institutional levels.
