A Lebanese industrialist born in Beirut on April 5, 1958, Dr. Fady J. Gemayel is married with two children. He holds an MS in Economics from Texas A&M University, and an MA in 1981 from Georgetown University in the United States. Following a DEA in Commercial Sciences from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), he obtained in 2001 a PhD in Management Sciences from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France).
Dr. Gemayel is presently the co-owner and honorary chairman of “Gemayel Freres S.A.L.”, a family-owned corrugated cardboard and packaging company established in 1929. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, and has had the ISO 9002 certification since March 1998. He is also the co-owner and chairman/general manager of two sister companies, Société Libanaise de Carton (SOLICAR) S.A.L., which is one of Lebanon’s major paper recycling mills, and Blue Pack SAL, which specializes in brand recognition products, such as labels.
Moreover, Dr. Gemayel is co-owner and chairman of GEMDOUBS and NorPaper, which are top-notch paper mills located respectively in Besançon and Nantes (France).

- President of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI), the highest industrialist private sector body in Lebanon;
- President of the Syndicate of Owners of Paper and Packaging Industries in Lebanon (SOPIL);
- President of The Arab Federation for Paper, Packaging and Printing Industries” (AFPPPI), which encompasses 15 Arab countries.
- Member of the ILO Governing Body in Asia and Pacific for the period 2017-2020.
- Member of the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) in the USA and Canada;
- Corresponding Member of the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO).
Past key activities:
- Former president and founder of LibanPack, a pioneering center designed to develop packaging and boost the exportation of Lebanese products (launched in April 2009);
- Senior advisor to the late Sheikh Pierre Gemayel, Minister of Industry in 2005-2006;
- Former member of the board of the Lebanese Businessmen Association (RDCL) 1997 – 2003;
- Former lecturer at the Saint-Joseph University (USJ) in strategic management and the MBAIP joint program with Paris IX Dauphine and Paris 1 Sorbonne. He is also member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Business Administration and Management.
