The Jeita Grotto is the largest cave in Lebanon (9,050 m long). First discovered in 1836, the cave is composed of an upper and a lower grotto. A cable car takes visitors to the entrance of the upper grotto, which is open year round for walking tours, to admire its impressive stalactites and stalagmites. |

Our Lady of Lebanon (Harissa): The 8.5-m landmark bronze statue of the Virgin Mary was inaugurated in 1908. Pope John Paul II visited the shrine in May 1997. The shrine is located on the Harissa hilltop, at an altitude of 600 meters and offers a panoramic view of the coastline. It is also accessible by cable car from Jounieh. |
