Alain Abi Rizk is an Associate Professor of Animal Production and Health management in the School of Engineering. Having joined USEK in 2012 as an assistant professor, he held the positions of Head of the Agricultural Sciences Department as well as Assistant Dean for International Affairs, and currently serves as Head of the Agriculture Engineering program.

Alain is a polymath with expertise in management, entrepreneurship, geopolitics, international affairs, biosystems engineering, animal health management, zoonosis, agriculture, pathophysiology, stem cells biotechnology, microbiology, virology, cellular biology, molecular biology, oncology, genetics and immunology.

He is the founder and CEO of One Health SAL Animal Diagnostic Laboratory, founder and GM of the molecular diagnostic laboratory of St. Georges Hospital Ajaltoun, founder and GM of GMK Animal Diagnostic Laboratory in the Democratic Republic of Congo, founder of One Health MDx laboratories, Jeita, Lebanon, and co-founder of Prima Industrial Engineering, Doha, Qatar. Additionally, Alain serves as a geopolitical consultant for the EU, global technical consultant and counselor for geopolitics, agriculture, animal health, food safety, food industry, and lean management for many corporations, ministries and international organizations.

Alain is the president of the Metrology Chapter at the Lebanese Association for the Advancement of Science (LAAS), a TV anchor, and an Ambassador for Meaningful Business, promoting the UN SDGs.

He is the author and co-author of more than 30 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and books.
