Bechara Mouannes is an assistant professor at the School of Architecture and Design. After graduating from USEK in 1986, he completed a 24-month "CEAA Architecture and Archaeology" program in Paris as a scholarship recipient of the French government. This program included theoretical training, research, professional internships on archaeological sites in Amathus (Cyprus), Delos (Greece) and Autun (France). The results of his work, especially graphical outputs, were published under the supervision of the responsible researchers of the French School of Athens.
Upon his return to Lebanon, he established his private office, undertaking several construction, rehabilitation and development projects, and joined USEK as a faculty member. He also participated in numerous exchange programs with Mediterranean universities, including: the Cedars project with E.A. of Toulouse, the MED-CAMPUS program (UNIMED A139 project), a training of trainers’ program in Lebanon, Jordan and Italy. He played a key role in developing the architecture curriculum at USEK as part of the "pedagogical committee" in the late 1990s, overseeing the transition to the credit system.
