Charbel Fares is a professor of Computer and Electrical Engineering at the School of Engineering. Having joined USEK in 2006 as an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science, he served as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and IT between 2011 and 2021. He was also a member of the ABET committee and currently serves on Adhoc committee for recruiting at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He co-founded 5 startups and is a national and international advisor and mentor for tech startups.
Charbel is currently focusing on Fintech and Edtech as verticals in technology development. His main research interests are Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, CRM, web and mobile development, full stack development, and DevOps.
