Danielle Khalife is an associate professor of finance. Having joined USEK in 2012 as an assistant professor, she currently serves as the Dean of the USEK Business School and has participated in numerous national and international colloquiums.
Her research focuses on venture capital financing, entrepreneurship, financial modeling, and corporate governance. Her work includes investigating the financial causes of Lebanon’s economic crisis and resolution/prevention proposals. Danielle studied the impact of country governance on the sustainability of the banking sector in emerging economies and analyzed corporate governance effects on bank profits during the COVID-19 pandemic in Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Additionally, she has examined psychological and demographic predictors of cryptocurrency investment during crises in the MENA region, looking closely into the influence of investors’ sentiments on S&P 500 price levels using deep learning models and assessing the impact of financial literacy and self-control on individual financial performance during the Lebanese crisis. Her research also delves into intermarket analysis, the effect of workforce diversity on innovation in family businesses, and the implementation of artificial intelligence in pricing Asian and barrier options.
Overall, her research is driven by a desire to understand and address financial challenges faced by individuals, businesses, and the banking sector in Lebanon and the broader MENA region. She leverages quantitative methods to provide insights and potential solutions for navigating complex economic and financial landscapes.
In addition to her academic career, Danielle serves as a board member in several consulting and trading companies. She holds professional certificates in trading from the London Trading Clinic and the London Stock Exchange.
