Having joined USEK in 2011, Ghada Karam was appointed Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs in 2023, after serving as an Associate Provost for Strategy and Policy from 2021 to 2023. She has been a member of the USEK Academic and Research Council since 2016, and currently chairs the USEK Committee of Peers and the USEK Accreditation Committee – NECHE (Standard One and Standard Six). She actively participated in the USEK Strategic Planning task force 2023/2028.
Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, she acted as associate dean from 2016 to 2023 and interim dean from January 2021 to February 2023 at the School of Law and Political Sciences. She continues to co-direct several joint Master programs offered in collaboration with international partners, namely the Double Master 2 in Business Law with the University of Poitiers (France), the Double Master 2 in International Contracts with the University of Montpellier I (France) and founding co-director of the Double Master program (LL.M) in International and Comparative Law with McKinney School of Law (Indiana University, Indianapolis, USA).
She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in international private law, international contracts law, comparative contracts law, and introduction to law. Her research focuses on transnational litigation, conflict of laws, international law, international contract law, and the role of domestic law and domestic courts in molding the international legal spectrum.
Besides her degrees in law, Ghada pursued a post-graduate online certificate in teaching and learning from Norwich University (USA), and an online course design certificate offered by DEE FINK and Associates. In January 2020, she was certified as a Mediator by the Center of Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), London, UK.
