Haitham Sakr joined USEK in 2009 as a part-time faculty member in the Department of Law at the School of Law and Political Sciences (SLPS), then assistant professor in 2011. Currently, Haitham is an associate professor of law and serves as the Associate Dean of the SLPS and member of the Disciplinary Council.
His research interests include both administrative law and constitutional law. Much of his work has focused on public administration, and he made a significant contribution to the National Committee for Decentralization in 2011.
Haitham is co-author of The Administrative Decentralization in 100 Questions (Ministry of Interior, 2011) and the author of several articles on civil service and human rights. Haitham also held various other positions, including the Associate Director of Zahle RUC (2016-2023), the Academic Secretary for the Faculty of Law (2011-2016), member of the Admission and Transfer Committee (2014-2016), and member of the Ad Hoc Committee for the selection of faculty members (2012-2016). Additionally, he co-founded the Human Rights Center at USEK in 2013.
