Jean Claude Bassil, an accomplished professional in the field of visual communication, currently serves as an assistant professor and Head of Department of Design and Digital Media at the School of Architecture and Design.

With over 40 years of experience in the industry, Jean Claude is a highly respected individual in the world of design and digital media. Having joined USEK in 1993 as a lecturer, he has made over the years significant contributions to the university, playing a key role in shaping the minds of young designers. His expertise and passion for the subject have made him a sought-after mentor, and his students have gone on to achieve great success.

Apart from his academic achievements, Jean Claude is also a creative and innovative designer whose work has been recognized both nationally and internationally. He constantly strives to push the boundaries of visual communication, fostering inspiration among his students to do the same.

His research interests span both visual communication and typography, making him a leading expert in the industry. One of his main focuses is improving the understanding of typography in design. This mission is pursued through creating intricate patterns and developing new fonts to showcase the hidden beauty of typography. His unique approach to this often-overlooked aspect of design has gained him a reputation as a pioneer in the field.

Between 1987 and 1993, Jean Claude held the position of creative director at Transnet Corporation in New Jersey, USA. During his time there, he was able to bring his innovative ideas to life, thereby elevating the company's design standards. His contributions to the field of typography have been praised by both his peers and clients.
