Julnar Malek is a lecturer of communication science in the Department of Journalism and Communication at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She joined USEK in 2015 and has been teaching in other Lebanese universities such as USJ and UL since 2007.
Julnar is an authorized Delf-Dalf examiner and a member of the Prim Communication Laboratory at François Rabelais University in France.
Her research interests focus on media education, and she is currently coordinating a research project in the field. Her recent work focuses on improving organizational communication, especially within academic institutions.
As a communication expert, Julnar assesses communication projects for UNESCO. Since 2022, she has assisted digital community managers in developing strategies for their clients, and also works as a French copywriter. Her nonprofit activities include managing a small charity and providing communitarian consultancy services for some public entities such as municipalities, cultural centers, and public libraries.
Between 2004 and 2007, Julnar was the regional project manager for multilateral research projects and regional universities Governance at AUF Moyen-Orient.
She also served as the regional communication director for AUF and was the editor of ActUF, AUF’s Middle East Journal for Academic News. She was an international trainer for the AUF communication team and chaired the AUF international communication workshops dedicated to regional communication directors and universities communication chiefs.
