Lise Safatly Demirdjian is an associate professor of computer science in the Department of Computer Science and IT at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She joined USEK in 2023.
Lise was previously a senior research fellow at Beirut Research and Innovation Center, a research associate at the American University of Beirut, and the chairperson of the Electrical Engineering Department at the Lebanese University - Faculty of Engineering. Her research focuses on feature extraction and classification of biomedical signals for heart diseases diagnosis, and the automated localization of landmines. Additionally, she has investigated practical plans to integrate ethics learning in modern universities.
