Marina Ivaniceva is an Assistant Professor of Cinema and Television in the Department of Communication Arts at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Having joined USEK in 2024 she currently serves as the Head of Department of Communication Arts.

Marina is a scholar with research interests in videographic film criticism, film editing, and innovative film teaching practices, particularly in the MENA region. Much of her academic work is produced through audio-visual criticism, focusing on film editing practices, strategies, and approaches. She has taught at both the BA and MA levels in British and Saudi universities and has coordinated numerous international institutional collaborations on grants and educational initiatives.

Additionally, she played a key role in organizing the first international student film festival in Saudi Arabia and contributed to the film selection process at the Cabriolet Film Festival in Lebanon. With over 12 years of professional experience in filmmaking and post-production, she has worked extensively as an editor across commercial, educational, and music content. Her work on fiction and documentary film projects also include Listen Up Emily (Milo Cremer Eindhoven, 2016), OREGU (2019), which won the Best UK Short Documentary at LIMPA, Sea to Summit (2023), which earned the LOFF Alumnus Award, and Voices of Al Ula (Mitoshka Alkova, 2023), winner in the Documentary category at the Saudi Film Festival. She also holds a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
