Nathalie Estephan Nemer is an associate professor of Analytical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS). Having joined USEK in 2005 as an assistant professor, she currently serves as the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at the FAS.
Her research interests span both chemometrics and analytical chemistry, applied to the environment and food quality and technology. She has successfully directed numerous research projects in various fields, ranging from the optimization of analytical techniques using spectroscopy and chemometrics to the characterization of food products and assessment of environmental contaminants.
In addition to her academic role, Nathalie has supervised numerous Master and PhD theses, organized and chaired conferences, seminars, and workshops. Her collaborations with national and international institutions have promoted interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange.
Nathalie is a member of ChemHouse, international research group bringing together experts in chemometrics. She also serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals and has published her research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Her contributions to the fields of analytical chemistry, food science, and conservation have been recognized through grants and awards, including the prestigious “Junior Chemometrician” prize awarded in France in 2005.
