Robert Karam is an assistant professor at the School of Architecture and Design, handling course coordination and teaching Design Studio, Architecture Sketching, and Capstone Design Studio. He currently serves as the University Senate Vice-Chair. He joined USEK in 1990 as an instructor at the Business School and in 1992 as an instructor at the School of Architecture and Design. He has also held several other administrative positions, including the director of the Orientation and Admission Office.
Recently, Robert published “Mar Mikhael: From a Disaster Area to a Vital Center Simulating the Past and the Future. In Beirut Urban Declaration: For the reconstruction of the damaged areas after fourth of August explosion 2020 -2021”.
His portfolio encompasses a diverse range of architecture and consulting projects, including:
- Project highlights: Designing a residential private villa in Blat: concept, design, site survey, budget housing, etc.
- Kata Group Office: project management, design oversight, site execution, interior design, consultancy services, etc.
- China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Co. (CPECC): architectural work for oil gathering centers in China and Kuwait, involving various construction aspects and site supervision.
In addition to his design experience, Robert has actively participated in professional development by attending numerous conferences and workshops in the field of architecture, ensuring he stays abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the industry.
