Having joined USEK in 2018 as an instructor-researcher, Tania Bitar is currently an assistant professor of biology in the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

Tania completed her PhD in Neuroscience at Tours University in France, focusing on the identification of biomarkers for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in Lebanon to facilitate early diagnosis and enhance a better understanding of the pathology.

Her research interests focus on exploring the correlation between environmental and genetic factors and their impact on various neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Lebanon. This work is conducted within the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Research Group (NDRG) at USEK in Lebanon.
