The Ambassador of Venezuela in Lebanon H.E. Mrs. Zoed Karam, presented a lecture on April 28, 2011 within the framework of a series of lectures for the 2010 – 2011 academic year, given by the ambassadors of Latin America in Lebanon, organized by the Higher Institute of Political and Administrative Sciences and the Center of Studies and Cultures of Latin America (CECAL) at USEK, under the theme of: “Foreign Policy – Latin America and its Relations with the Middle East”.

Following a historical and geographical overview on Venezuela, Karam underlined that bilateral and multilateral relations between Venezuela and the countries of the Middle East and North Africa are given special attention in the strategic plan set by the government. This plan tends to activate the principle of multipolarity in the quest of social justice, solidarity and peace, a quest based on fraternal dialogue among peoples, respect of freedom of thought and the right of peoples to self-determination.
