Arab Music Festival honors Rev. Fr. Youssef Tannous

The 19th Festival and Conference of Arabic Music organized by the Opera House in Cairo, honored Rev. Fr. Youssef Tannous, former USEK Vice President for International Affairs and currently Dean of the Faculty of Music, among ten Arab figures who have contributed in the enrichment of music life in Egypt and the Arab world.

In the opening ceremony of the festival on November 1, following an overview of the honorees’ lives and achievements, the ten honorees received shields of honor and certificates of appreciation. The certificate of Rev. Fr. Youssef Tannous included the following message: Certificate of Appreciation to Rev. Fr. Youssef Tannous, Ph.D., the Opera House has the pleasure to honor you in the 19th Festival and Conference of Arab Music as acknowledgment for your distinguished role in disseminating and supporting music and genuine art in the Arab world.

It is worth mentioning that Rev. Fr. Dr. Tannous was the only figure from outside Egypt to be honored this year, the other 9 figures being all Egyptian.
