On June 19, 2012, Mr. Gui Mohallem (Mouallem), a Brazilian artist of Lebanese origin, visited the Latin American Studies and Cultures Center (CECAL) at USEK, as part of his journey in Lebanon to discover his father’s migration story from the village of Fekeh in the Bekaa.

Mr. Mohallem graduated from the Film School at the University of São Paulo in 2004, and specialized in cinematography. He has participated in several exhibitions and has been granted several prizes. The most recent prizes include: Conrado Wessel Award, 2nd place in Fine Arts, in São Paulo, Brazil, and Descubrimientos PHE, selected for portfolio review in Madrid, Spain.
