On Friday April 11, 2014, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized a conference entitled “What are the most Prominent Contributions of the Lebanese Army Special Forces in Facing Challenges” in cooperation with the Lebanese Youth Association and in coordination with the Leadership of the Lebanese Army. The conference was given by the Leader of the School of Special Forces, Major Lieutenant Colonel Fady Makhoul, in the Presence of General Elie Derzi, Captains Nohad Aoun and Mohamed El Bazzal, in addition to the Dean of the organizing Faculty, Dr. Paul Zgheib, officers from the Lebanese Army, professors and students.
Following the Lebanese National Anthem, the Head of the Graphic Design Department, Mr. Marroun Kosayfi, inaugurated the event. Then, the representative of the Lebanese Youth Association, Ms. Nour Keyrouz, introduced the Association, explaining that it is a nonpolitical movement with a national vision. Members of this association named the Lebanese Army as their prime example in patriotism. She also showcased the main activities of the Association and its goals in promoting communications between the Lebanese people living in Lebanon and those living abroad; thereby creating a close relationship between the Association and Lebanese public institutions, in order to introduce Lebanese youth to the role and mission of these institutions. The Association also works with NGOs, CSOs and university clubs to promote public good and supports higher education through a program for school and university scholarships.
Then, a documentary film was shown summarizing the activities of the Association in schools and universities, along with its achievements and training of the Lebanese Army Rangers.
Finally, Major Lieutenant Colonel Fady Makhoul, started his presentation, explaining the hierarchy and organization of the Lebanese Army Special Forces in facing various challenges.
