The Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at USEK and the Cultural cooperation Service of the French embassy welcomed the landscape architect Mr. Jean-Pierre Le Dantec, for a five days mission at USEK from November 5 to November 12, 2005. Famous critic of the French architecture, novelist and director of the architecture school of Paris-La-Villette, Mr. Le Dantec gave a lecture entitled “Place and architecture. Modernism, postmodernism and extra modernism”, on Thursday November 10, 2005 in the Conference Hall.
After a presentation of the essential problematic of the architecture history in the 20th century, Mr. Le Dantec raised the essential issue of the modernity debate, which requires an ethical awareness for the architecture facing society and in the framework of the durable management of the environment.
