On Tuesday May 13, 2014, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) paid tribute to Lebanese theater through the master of theater and all arts, Mr. Raymond Gebara, who enriches the students with his experience and presence.
In the beginning, Mrs. Lina Gebran welcomed the attendees and introduced Raymond Gebara and his most prominent works. Then she said: “We believe in you and we believe in the Lebanese artist and creative human being; we believe that the Lebanese people will only grow through art and culture. This is our Lebanon and you are one of its pillars”.
Then, words of appreciation and tribute were given by Dr. Paul Zgheib, Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Mrs. May Menassa, journalist and writer, Gabriel Yammine, actor, director and professor of theater in the Lebanese University, Joulia Kassar, artist and acting teacher at the Lebanese University, Randa El Asmar, actress, producer and festival coordinator, as well as Camile Salameh, writer, actor and director.
Following the testimonies, a documentary film, prepared by Mr. Hanna El Khoury, cinema teacher at USEK , entitled ‘The Bewitched’ was shown highlighting the successful career of Gebara.
Finally, Dr. Paul Zgheib presented an honorary shield to Raymond Gebara who expressed his heartfelt thanks to everyone.
The event was concluded with another documentary film entitled ‘Gebara’, by Nasri El Brax.
