USEK paid tribute to the representatives of the most successful companies and signed an agreement with HEC Business School in Montréal

The Corporate Relations Unit of the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik held a gathering on April 7, 2011 in the presence of H.E. Mrs. Hilary Childs-Adams, Ambassador of Canada to Lebanon, as well as of several representatives of the most successful local and international companies that took part in the Job Fair 2011, organized recently by the said Faculty. In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at USEK, represented by its Dean Dr. Nehme Azoury, and HEC Montréal, represented by its Director of International Executive Education, Dr. Hassan Taghvai.

At first, Mrs. Tina Habib, Corporate Relations Coordinator, enlightened the great success that met the several companies’ requirements such as training and employment as well as strategic cooperation agreements.
Afterwards, Dr. Azoury tackled the continuous progress and development at the University in conformity with the standards and criteria of the labor market in the frame of concurrency and globalization as well as the permanent modernization of educational programs that meet the requirements of the labor market. “In order to enlarge the horizons of our Faculty, we decided to continue our strategy that consists of collaborating with a several number of American and Canadian universities, including HEC Montréal”, said the dean.

Moreover, the Secretary-General of the Higher Council on Privatization in Lebanon, Mr. Ziad Hayek, saluted the efforts exerted by all parties in the aim of limiting the massive Lebanese young emigration. He considered that this job fair organized by the University is one of the fruitful means that provide our students with job opportunities. He tackled in addition the concept of privatization enumerating thus the resulting advantages.
The Rector of the University, Rev. Fr. Hady Mahfouz pointed out that creating a corporate relations unit contributes to enhance our relationships with the private sector and tighten the link between students and the external world. He confirmed that the goals of this unit, established a year ago, have exceeded the expectations and satisfied the fundamental priorities that the University aims for achieving. These priorities are based on spreading the seeds of quality in order to harvest distinction and excellence in the frame of human values, essence of the University’s mission.

At last, the HEC Montréal Director of International Executive Education, Dr. Hassan Taghvai, explained the Graduate Diploma in Management exchange program offered by the School of Business to USEK management students.
