Lebanese Customs is a public administration responsible for the collection of customs duties and other taxes that might be imposed on goods imported to Lebanon, as well as duties that might be imposed on certain exported goods in accordance to the Customs Law or any other law or agreement which Lebanon has ratified.
Our goals:
- Protect the security of international trade;
- Promote voluntary compliance with our laws and regulations through communication, quality service and responsible enforcement;
- Adopt risk management techniques to target smuggling and detection of fraudulent practices;
- Adopt Post Clearance Control to audit Customs transactions;
- Protect the society and public health by enforcing strict import and export restrictions and prohibitions;
- Provide accurate and timely trade statistics of goods;
- Seek Information Technology to gradually move into paperless environment and adoption of e-government principles.
