The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized a webinar entitled “Effectuation: the Art of Being an Entrepreneur”, conducted by Dr. Joe Tabet.
This event, hosted by the Asher Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ACIE), was held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 7:00 p.m., via Microsoft Teams.
This virtual interactive workshop shed light on the concept of effectuation as the most natural and sensible way to start a business. Being an entrepreneur is not only to have a great idea or be able to predict the future: most entrepreneurs actually “do business” before they even think of writing a business plan.

About the Speaker
As a Trusted Advisor to Entrepreneurs, Joe Tabet has dedicated most of his time over the last 20 years to advising business owners and entrepreneurs.
He lectures in top management executive programs at various business schools worldwide, such as INSEAD (Fontainebleau), ESCP-Europe (Paris), Cranfield University (UK), Instituto de Empresa (Madrid), Katholieke Universiteit (Leuven), and ESA (Beirut).
After getting an MBA from INSEAD in 1992, he set up a research center focusing on applying management principles to the health sector. Trained as medical doctor, he also holds a degree in emergency medicine and plastic surgery. He still practices surgery once a week as a side (non-lucrative) activity.
