As part of the “Law in the Movies” series, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) organized the screening of Big Eyes (2014), a movie directed by Tim Burton, which tells the real-life story of painter Margaret Keane whose husband claimed credit for her paintings. The film recounts the legal battle she fought to recover her rights, and highlights the legal issues of moral rights and copyright, as well as libel and slander.
This event, hosted by the School of Law and Political Sciences, took place on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 12:30 p.m., in the Conference Hall.
After the screening, a discussion was held between students and instructors.
