The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) and the Municipality of Jounieh organized seven workshops involving several departments as part of a workshop entitled: “Workshop: Heritage, Urban Life and Architecture: Rethinking Cultural Interfaces in the Jounieh Souk”.
This event, hosted by the Department of Design and Interior Architecture of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, took place on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the Jounieh Municipality building. The event also featured an exhibition that run until December 30, 2017.
The opening of the exhibition coincided with a series of presentations allowing exchanges to take place between students, teachers, professionals and the wider public. Works will be exhibited in the Jounieh Municipality building, on sidewalks, in the house located on plot n° 253 and in the Rizk Residence.
Discussions during the workshops were based on the following topics: heritage and environment; contemporary museography; architecture and resilience; memory of places; trace and impact; sign and symbol; wandering in the city; living on sidewalks; walls and passageways.
