This book is presented by Joseph Abi Daher for the forgotten zajal poet Antoine Salameh who was not unknown but forgetfulness put him in the collective memory. Salameh improvised poetry but did not sing zajal on the stage. In his book “The Story of America”, he wrote about the emigration from his village “Zouk”, in addition to wise critical poems and historical poems about events which he witnessed. His zajal and the few wooing poems were dominated by the local language and accent. This book is the only remaining legacy of his life.
