(holders of a recognized Baccalaureate or Freshman diploma - equivalent to 30 credits)
Mission
One of the missions of the program is to enable students who would like to promote inter-linguistic and intercultural communication, to acquire the basics of the art of translation from English, French or Arabic to each one of these languages.
The Department is concerned in training students to practice written multilingual translation.
Program Educational Objectives
1. Students are trained in trilingual translation (Ar.-Fr.-Eng.).
2. Students are trained in translation of a pragmatic text (Ar.-Fr.-Eng.).
3. Students are trained in translation of a specialized text (Ar.-Fr.-Eng.).
Program Outcomes
a. An ability to communicate successfully in Arabic, French and English.
b. An ability to practice contrastive linguistics.
c. An ability to select, in a specialized text, economic terms and to find their equivalent in another language.
d. An ability to select, in a specialized text, legal terms and to find their equivalent in another language.
