The Public Law Research Center (PLRC) is part of the School of the Law and Political Sciences and specializes in research in public law.
MISSION
The Center conducts and stimulates research, produces works and formulates policy recommendations in areas of public law related to the needs of the reform of the Lebanese State and its activities, both national and international. It also strives to build cooperation with research institutions in the Middle East and other regions of the world.
The Public Law Research Center is also meant to serve as a support laboratory for a Master’s Degree in public law.
VISION
The Center seeks to promote and develop research in public law both within USEK’s School of Law and Lebanon. It aims to contribute, through work, recommendations, and training, to improving the effectiveness of public policies for the benefit of the Lebanese people.
The Center also seeks to promote a culture of good State governance and respect for human rights. More generally, the Center aims to disseminate a culture of respect for State institutions in Lebanon, i.e. to make society – most particularly young people – aware of the need for stable, transparent, and well-governed state institutions, with laws applicable to all and with policies respectful of fundamental political, economic, and social rights of the Lebanese people.
The research results are made available to the public through the print or online publication of books, conference proceedings, or articles in the
USEK Law Journal, a peer-reviewed journal indexed on Scopus
