What should I expect on (or before) my official start date?
You should expect to visit the Human Resources Office (Kaslik Campus – Building G – 3rd floor) on or even before your official start date to complete all necessary hiring paperwork. Your paperwork will include ID Photocopy (or passport for foreigners), recent passport photo, photocopy of diplomas obtained, photocopy of professional experience certification from previous employer and list of publications.

What should I know about parking?
Parking enforcement will begin no later than the first day of the academic year. Campus parking requires a permit. You may obtain a permanent faculty parking permit by appearing in person at the HR Office and presenting your USEK Identification card and a copy of your car registration car for accurate information related to your vehicle (vehicle license plate number, make, model, color, and year).
HELP! Is there support for building my course page?
Yes! The Center for Teaching and Learning (LTEC) manages teaching tools, course design assistance, and professional development for teaching. How do I access my university email?
Upon confirmation of your recruitment, the HR office shares by email with each newly recruited faculty the credentials related to USEK accounts to facilitate their on-boarding process (USEK ID, Username, USEK Email and password (to be reset).

Where do I go to build my course webpage?
Moodle is the campus learning management system. Login and start building your courses right away by visiting the USEK website. Click on Quick links and enter the E-learning portal by navigating to Home | USEK | eLearning
By using your USEK account, you should connect to the
E-learning platform.
How do I access Moodle and add activities?
1. Log in

2. Go to Dashboard
Your course will appear here.
3. Under Course Overview, there is a Filter tool, click on it and choose “In progress.”
Your current courses will appear.
4. Click on a specific course to get to the course page
5. In the settings panel on top right of the page click on “turn editing on”.
6. Start adding your activities
a. Assignments (where students can post their work)
b. Forum (for questions and answer)
c. File (to add a file; but you can also drag and drop directly on the course page)
d. URL (to add a link to a webpage, a document on a SharePoint, a video, and audio, etc….)
7. Assignment Activity
Select “Assignment” then click on “Add” to access the assignment settings page.
After all options are defined, click on “Save and return to course”.
8. Forum Activity
Select “Forum” then click on “Add”.
After all options are defined, click on “Save and return to course”.
9. File Resource
You can drag and drop the file to the course page directly or Select “File” and the click on “Add”.

10. URL Resource
Select “URL” then click on “Add”.

How do I use Microsoft teams?
1. Download and Installation
a) If you don’t have Microsoft Teams, download it from the following link:

b) Install the application.
c) Sign in using USEK email & password.
2. Create your course, click on Join or create Teams, enter Class, enter the name of your course, then add the students to the class by using their USEK email addresses or by their names.
3. During the Meeting (Class), the following options can be used:
a) Mute and unmute audio and video for any student.
b) Share the desktop, any opened window separately or whiteboard for free hand drawing.
c) Record the conference to be able to share the related link on Moodle.
d) Show meeting notes for better communication with students.
e) Show participants to display the list of students in the meeting.

Yes! Teaching and research in today’s complex information environment demand an academic library that pays attention to what faculty members need to do their work.
For example, digital collections have significantly increased this past year, offering more new titles, backfiles and full text articles. The library offers growing collections and other resources at the faculty’s disposal.
