Within the framework of its activities for the 2011-2012 academic year, the Higher Center for Research organized a seminar titled: “The Challenges of Interdisciplinary Scientific Research.” This event is part of the cycle of annual seminars on epistemology and methodology for teachers/researchers at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) in order to initiate a shared analysis of the difficulties, obstacles and challenges that might be encountered during the course of interdisciplinary research.

Université de Strasbourg – France.
Specific Objectives:
The seminar aimed to develop the following issues:
- The importance and the necessity of interdisciplinary research
- The epistemological conditions of the interdisciplinary approach
- Interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research: scientific reality and/or utopia?
- The difficulties of interdisciplinary research: from the principle of organization to interdisciplinary practice
- Interdisciplinary work centering and unity
- Critical reflection on examples of interdisciplinary exchanges and cooperation
