Starting next academic year 2022-2023, the Medical program at USEK will be structured according to the American Premed/Med system.
To that end, the admission rules and requirements to the BS in Fundamental Health Sciences and the General Medicine program (MD) have been changed as follows:
a) Starting Fall semester 2022-2023 (202310), the admission to the BS in Fundamental Health Sciences (FHS), Hybrid program, follows the below admission criteria:
- Educational Background:
1- Lebanese Baccalaureate LS or GS
2- Freshman Sciences with Delf B2 or Remedial FRN140
3- BT3 not applicable
- SAT (English & Math) score ≥ 1100/1600 & DELF B2 or USEK Entrance Exams:
1- English Entrance Exam:
≥70/100: No Remedial
55-70/100: Remedial ENG140
<55/100: Remedial ENG130 + ENG140
2- French Entrance Exam:
≥10/20 (G10, G11) or DELF B2: No Remedial
<10/20: Remedial FRN140
3- Math Entrance Exam:
≥70/100: No Remedial
<70/100: Remedial MAT110
N.B. The Medicine Competitive Exam to the BS in Health Fundamental Sciences has been terminated starting Fall 2022-2023.
b) The admission to the General Medicine program (MD) starts in the Fall semester 2025-2026 (202610) and is subject to a numerous clauses defined on a yearly basis.
There are two admission paths:
Path 1: Admission based on academic performance (MAAP), reserved for USEK students holding a BS in FHS, in Biology, or in Biochemistry only.
Eligibility requirements
- Holding a BS in Fundamental Health Sciences, in Biology, or in Biochemistry with a minimum GPA of 90/A;
- Having validated 100% of the BS courses at USEK;
Having validated the following courses (60 credits) at USEK with a minimum GPA of 87/A-.

Admission requirements
- Motivation letter;
- Interview (Interviews are granted to selected applicants after the SMMS Admissions Committee has reviewed all completed applications and made its recommendations).
Path 2: Admission based on MCAT, open to all students.
Eligibility requirements
- Holding any bachelor diploma with a min GPA of 80/B;
- Having validated the following courses (40 credits) with a minimum GPA of 80/B;
- Having passed the MCAT during the last 3 semesters prior to the application and obtained the required test score (which will be specified yearly).
