Prof. Gehan Saleh is an economic advisor to the Egyptian prime minister and a professor of financial economics and international business. She is a former dean of the College of International Transport and Logistics at the Arab Academy of Science and Technology and a former board member of the Egyptian Food Industries Holding Company.
Dr. Saleh also worked as an economic consultant for the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, and the Ministry of Transport.
Dr. Saleh holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a Master of Arts in Economics in International Development from the American University in Cairo (AUC).
Besides her academic work as a professor of economics at Northwestern University and Loyola University in the United States, Prof. Saleh is also a researcher with the IMF, the World Bank, and the U.S. Federal Reserve. In addition to leading and participating in various projects and research with the EU and USAID, she has taken part over the years in a number of consultancy projects involving the Middle East and the United States, and received various awards for her achievements in research and education.
