
Tania El Kallab is a seasoned economist and academic with expertise in institutional and political economy, international economics, economic history, development economics, and public policy analysis.
She is the founder and CEO of Konsilyum Economic Advisory Company, where she advises on key economic reforms, bank restructuring, fiscal and monetary policy, and reconstruction efforts aligned with sustainable and climate commitments. She also serves as the Economic Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut.
In academia, Tania is a faculty member at the Lebanese American University (LAU) and Ecole des Sciences et Affaires (ESA), with her teaching and lecturing spanning economic specializations and emphasizing the role of institutions, governance, and international trade dynamics on economic growth. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, covering topics such as financial reporting quality, political risk, institutional deterioration, and colonial trade patterns.
Besides advising positions on various boards, such as the Lebanese Maronite Order and the Beirut Economic Congress, Dr. El Kallab is a visiting researcher at ESSEC Business School and a research affiliate at THEMA Research Center. Her previous professional experience encompasses the 100 Resilient Cities program, the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Byblos Bank, and HSBC.
Dr. El Kallab holds a PhD in Economics from ESSEC Business School and Université Cergy-Pontoise, with her doctoral research focusing on political and institutional economy. She also holds an MBA from ESSEC and a master’s in Economic Analysis from Université Cergy-Pontoise. In 2024, she earned a certificate in Public Policy Analysis from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
