Marwan Kheireddine currently holds the post of the Chairman & General Manager of Al Mawarid Bank s.a.l, where he has served in multiple capacities since 1992.
During his tenure as Lebanese Minister of State from July 2011 to February 2014, Kheireddine served as a key member in over 20 ministerial committees, where he played a central role in a broad array of economic, financial, and fiscal matters. An avid believer in supporting economic growth through empowerment of the private sector, Kheireddine actively supported the creation of BDL Intermediary Circular 331, a regulation aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth by encouraging and financing entrepreneurs and protecting Lebanon’s banking sector and strengthening its abidance by international laws and norms.
From 1994 to 1999, Kheireddine served on the Board of the Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE) as financial advisor to the Chairman, in addition to serving several terms on the board of the ‘Association of Banks of Lebanon’. He was a Lecturer in finance at the American University of Beirut from 1993 till 2013. In 2005, Kheireddine was elected to the American University of Beirut, Olayan School of Business, Middle East Advisory Board, where he still serves. And in 2012, he joined the Board of Trustees of the American Community School of Lebanon.
Kheireddine is a founding member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) - Lebanon chapter, created in 1999 and has since served in multiple positions. In addition he was the co-Chair of the YPO-London Business School Joint Executive Education Program from 2012 to 2014, where he teaches an introduction to finance Session. He is a founding member of the Young Arab Leaders and has served as Lebanon’s chapter first Chairman.
A serial entrepreneur, Kheireddine has founded multiple small and medium businesses in a vast array of industries, including the franchise of Virgin Megastores in Lebanon and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Marwan Kheireddine earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Economics from Richmond University in the United Kingdom, and an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York.
