Purpose
The rooms in the Library are primarily designed for use by the USEK community for study, group work, training, and meetings.
Reservation and Availability
- Rooms are available Monday through Friday during library opening hours;
- Users can reserve study rooms for a period of up to two (2) hours per day and six (6) total hours per week;
- Room reservation can be made online up to two (2) weeks in advance;
- Reserved rooms must be claimed within the first 15 minutes of the reservation. Otherwise, the reservation is forfeited, and it will be made available to others;
- USEK Library should be notified by e-mail of any changes, or cancelations at least 24 hours in advance so that the room can be made available for others to use;
- Sessions must be promptly wrapped up at the end of the booked session to allow a smooth transfer to the next users scheduled to use the room;
- Study rooms must be vacated thirty (30) minutes before library closing time;
- In case of any change in the library schedule, the user will be notified by e-mail.
Room Use
- Library rooms may not be used for faculty office hours or instruction on an ongoing basis;
- The door(s) to the room must be kept closed to keep the noise at a minimum;
- Study rooms must be kept clean at all times;
- The user who made the reservation will be held responsible for the group’s behavior and the condition of the room including any damage to the room, furniture and equipment;
- Users will be charged replacement fees or fines for lost, damaged or stolen material;
- In the event any problems are encountered with hardware or software, users must contact the Library Staff at the Circulation Desk immediately and not try to troubleshoot the problem themselves;
- Users are responsible for their personal property. The Library is not liable for any loss or damage to personal property, so personal items must not be left unattended;
- Smoking and open flames are not permitted in any library facility;
- Food and beverages are not allowed in the study rooms.
Violation of these or other applicable library policies may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access to Library study rooms.
