By the beginning of each academic year, a call for candidacy will be sent by email to all students. (dates to be defined in the
University’s Academic Calendar).
Students considered eligible are those who meet the following criteria:
Undergraduate Students:
- Have already accomplished 30 credits of their program;
- Have a cumulative GPA of 75/100 and above;
- Have never been on probation for academic or disciplinary matters;
- Have never been engaged in any political activity;
- Are able to serve for one full academic year before graduation.
Graduate Students:
- Have already accomplished 9 credits of their program;
- Have a cumulative GPA of 85/100 and above;
- Have never been on probation for academic or disciplinary matters;
- Have never been engaged in any political activity;
- Are able to serve for one full academic year before graduation.
Doctoral Students:
- Have already accomplished 1 year of their academic program;
- Have never been engaged in any political activity;
- Are able to serve for one full academic year before graduation.
The selection process for student representatives will be carried out randomly through a draw.
Students wishing to be representatives of their academic unit will be invited to send an email to the
Student Affairs Office, within the pre-defined deadlines (mentioned in the
Academic Calendar).
All applications will be reviewed by the Deputy President for Students who are eligible for consideration.
Applicants will receive a confirmation email on their eligibility status, which will include all the necessary details relative to the draw (date, time, location…).
The draw session will be attended by the Deputy President for Students, deans, director of the Student Affairs Office and students.
The selected students shall serve for one academic year.
The student has to ensure the conformity to the eligibility criteria during the representation term, in order not to lose the representative status.
The number of the representatives is pre-defined yearly for every academic unit.
Each regional campus should have two student representatives.
