Arab Economic and Business Journal (AEBJ)

The Arab Economic and Business Journal (AEBJ) (ISSN 2214-4625), published by the Business School of the Holy Spirit University Kaslik (USEK), is a peer-reviewed English language journal. The journal dates back to 2008 as a result of the collaborative efforts between USEK and its partners from the Arab Society of Faculties of Business, Economic and Political Sciences, and the Association of Arab Universities. Regular issues of the journal appear bi-annually. The journal website can be accessed under Arab Economic and Business Journal | Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (usek.edu.lb).

AEBJ aims to advance and enable the dissemination of high-impact research in management theory and practice related to business, not-for-profit organizations, as well as public administration. The journal encourages interdisciplinary research as well as interpretative and critical studies in related fields, such as business, economics, political science, gender studies, psychology, and sociology. AEBJ welcomes research that is both theoretical and empirical, encouraging authors also to draw on works not published in English, to provide space and give voice to other cultural contexts and to the Global South.

AEBJ’s scope includes the following:
  • Management studies (all functions of business and cross-cultural studies)
  • Leadership studies (leadership and governance)
  • Organization studies (behavior, culture, organizational aesthetics, cross cultural studies)
  • Policy studies for businesses (legislative frameworks, government policy, and regulation)
  • Marketing
  • Finance, Banking, and Financial Economics
  • Entrepreneurship

Welcome Note from the Editors-in-Chief
2021 marks the re-launch of the Arab Economic and Business Journal (AEBJ). In 2018, AEBJ’s activities were temporarily interrupted, and the journal was recently migrated to Elsevier’s Digital Commons. 2021 equally marks several changes in AEBJ’s editorial team. The journal has now two editors-in-chief: Prof. Nehme Azoury, who held the post since the journal’s inception in 2008, joined by Dr. Bettina Lynda Bastian. Moreover, the editorial team is supported by two associate editors, Dr. Daniele Khalife-Fraiha and Dr. Charbel El Khoury.

Our objective is to develop AEBJ into a leading and high-quality publication outlet for business, management, and economics and to be indexed in renowned databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and others in order to increase the journal’s visibility. AEBJ will keep its generalist appeal and offer a broad scope of research areas. We encourage scholarly articles from researchers across the globe and we are particularly interested in research that addresses complex challenges requiring interdisciplinary solutions. More specifically, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic represents a global societal challenge that requires emphasizing the nexus between business, economics, and society to remain relevant.

At AEBJ, we respond to these needs by increasing the number of editorial board members to expand our research expertise and our knowledge regarding different regions and cultures. Also, we will give more voice to emerging research debates and topics by publishing special issues. Finally, a new editorial category called ‘Book Review’ has been introduced to provide further impetus for scholarly debate about pertinent and current conversations in different academic fields.

As AEBJ moves forward, we encourage interesting contributions and look forward to our future collaboration with authors, reviewers, and editors.
