1- Am I eligible for counseling services?
Every student is eligible for counseling services, there are no rules. You can seek help no matter what the demand is.
2- How to schedule a counseling session?
To schedule a session, you can send an email to
ucc@usek.edu.lb, call us on 09 600 791, or just walk in (E001 A). Counseling services are free of charge.
3- How do I know I need counseling?
When your demands are the following:
- Specific issues or short-term problems you wish to address (Stress, depression and anxiety, academic struggles, relational and emotional problems, sexuality concerns, communication skills)
- Wishing to learn coping skills to help manage stress and improve relationships.
- Looking for someone who can guide and support you as you learn to recognize problems and formulate healthy solutions yourself.
4- How long does counseling take?
It is a short-term counseling (8 to 24 sessions) and depends on the demand.
5- How long is a counseling session?
It is 45 minutes per live session and 30 minutes per online session.
6- In case of emergency, do I still have to make an appointment?
All appointments are usually scheduled one week ahead. In case of a walk-in emergency, we can give you the soonest appointment.
7- Are counseling sessions confidential?
Consultants are ethically committed to confidentiality. Information shared during sessions and student’s attendance are kept private and confidential.
8- Can I have counseling sessions in between semesters?
Yes, as long as you are an active student.
